What is DocMessageClass?
DocMessageClass changes the MessageClass of MS Outlook items.
Who needs this facility?
Anybody who develops custom Outlook forms or uses custom Outlook forms.
For instance, after designing and publishing a custom contacts form in
a folder, only newly created contacts will open using the new form. Older
contacts, created before publishing the new form, will still open using the
standard form. DocMessageClass will update the message class of the older
contacts to use the new form.
How do I use DocMessageClass?
To enable these older contacts to use the new form, each contact's
MessageClass has to be changed. Select the relevant Outlook-Folder in
the folders list. (Folders which are setup to use a user-defined form,
are displayed with a green tag). Now select one or more Source-
MessageClasses and one Target-MessageClass. After clicking on the
"Convert MessageClass" button, each entry which belonged to the
Source-MessageClass, will have been be re-assigned to the Target-
MessageClass.
What does the "Reset Icons" do?
Entries, which are created using a default MessageClass, retain their
original Icon after changing the MessageClass. Choosing "Reset Icons"
allows items to display the Icon associated with the new form.
Liability?
All liabilities lie with the user of DocMessageClass. :-)
Can DocMessageClass be passed on to others?
Yes, but only unaltered in any way and not in return for any type of payment.
