Genifax™
is the only enterprise fax solution that has been developed, ground
up for Windows 2000. It capitalises on 9 years worth of fax
expertise expended into its predecessor Fax Sr., to deliver an
optimised and sleek solution.
Why is this important to you?
Uses Current
Technology
- Many of
the fax solutions available today are based on core technology that
was developed over 5 years ago. Such solutions tend to have
been extended in every direction to cope with emerging technologies,
better ways of handling fax conversion, and new and different
versions of email systems. They also probably use fax boards that
are no longer supported. By investing in Genifax you can be assured
of a future-proof investment and a low cost of ownership for many
years to come.
Exploits
COM & DCOM - Genifax was
implemented using Microsoft's Component Object Model (COM) and
distributed COM (DCOM) model available in Windows 2000. The
benefits offered are: efficient processing of work (fast);
clustering to achieve reliability and load sharing in clustered
configurations; the flexibility to isolate system components and run
them on separate servers (such as a remote office modem-only server
or a dedicated document conversion server); a common, Windows
2000-centric look and feel for system administration programs (MMC-based
management application, integration with the Windows Event Log and
Performance Monitor).
Leverages
Active Directory -
Genifax's Exchange 2000 integration takes full advantage of the
Windows 2000 Active Directory as the central repository for
information about your company's users and their contacts. All
information about those individuals is captured and made available
for fax cover pages, reporting and cost charge back, etc.
Fax-specific user properties (such as default fax cover page) are
set using the Genifax extension to the Active Directory Manager in
MMC.
By contrast, legacy fax products require administrators to use a
proprietary administration tool to set these properties in a
separate fax user database.
Optimises
Cluster Operation -
Genifax's Exchange 2000 gateway is fully "cluster aware". It can
connect to a cluster of Exchange 2000 servers, load share among
those servers when all the members of the server are operating and
fail over to backup Exchange servers should one of the members of
the cluster fail. This is accomplished without any intervention by
the Genifax administrator or operations personnel.
Future Proof
Platform - Genifax
is built around an advanced
messaging engine that is designed to bridge the gap
between traditional faxing and emerging alternatives such as
guaranteed, encrypted email delivery.
